I was shocked to hear about Derek's passing. but I guess we are all getting older and it has been over 30 years since Space 1999.My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

So sorry to hear of Derek's passing. I greatly enjoyed his work, both when I was a child with his distinctive Space: 1999 score and later as an adult through his work with Dusty Springfield, Nina Simone and others. My condolences to his family and friends.

Met Derek at Dusty Day 08 in London. We talked for a long time and I knew he was ill but his death has still come as a huge shock.Very saddened by the passing away of this dear lovely man. Will miss you

I hadn't know Derek for very long, however, he was great company and a good man. Sadly missed, fondly remembered.

So very sad to hear of the passing of Derek. I met him for the first and only time at Dusty Day 2008. My condolences to Derek's family and others close to him.
